EXAMPLES OF FICTION

• Short story: A work of at least 2,000 words but under 7,500 words. (5–25 pages)
• Novelette: A work of at least 7,500 words but under 17,500 words. (25–60 pages)
• Novella: A work of at least 17,500 words but under 50,000 words. (60–170 pages)
• Novel: A work of 50,000 words or more. (about 170+ pages) 

This could include anything from an original story to poetry and more!

For our Reference category, all illustrations should be in finished jpg format.  The images should be placed in the manuscript exactly where you’d like them in the finished e-book.

RESTRICTIONS

Submissions should not exceed 250 pages for text only; or 100 pages with images; or 25 pages for heavily designed.

FORMAT

Send in your finished manuscripts in one of the following forms:

• Word file
• PDF
• Indesign

ORIGINAL WORK ONLY

• Any work sent to us MUST be originated by the submitting author.  We are unable to accept anything passed on by a third party or written by another author.
• All manuscripts will be received in good faith, and ensure all copyright and intellectual property remains with the author of the work.
• Any submission should not have been published elsewhere, either as a paper book, an ebook, or any other format.
• We reserve the right to reject any book we feel is inappropriate, defamatory, or libelous. Our decision is final!

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Entries will be accepted from October 6, 2011 through midnight on October 28, 2011. 

JUDGING CRITERIA

All submissions will be reviewed by unbiased, qualified judges. These individuals are  comprised of editors, authors, journalists. Three (3) books in each category will be selected, and our final judge, best-selling author Kyra Davis (read more), will choose a winner from both categories!

One runner each in EACH category will receive promotion on our website, Social Media sites, blogs and in press releases - with links to the author’s site or designated link, along with a special rate for our e-book conversion service.

THE CONVERSION PROCESS

• Winners will be notified once judging has completed, and then converstion will begin.
• The conversion process will take approximately 2-3 weeks from start to finish.
• We’ll discuss any issues we find, then produce a draft version for the author to see and provide feed back on, and then create the final finished e-book in .mobi format.
• For reference titles, we may need to work with the author to get the designs and image layouts to requested specifications.
• Once complete, e-books will be delivered electronically to the winners, and the file will be uploaded and published, with a jacket image, to Amazon on the author’s behalf. This will then be available for sale through the store, subject to Amazon’s terms and conditions.
• The files will belong to the authors, and the Amazon book page will be linked to from our website for a period of 30 days.
